The Best Yamba Wedding Venues

(Updated for 2024)

So, you’re thinking about getting married in Yamba? Great call - I like you already!

Yamba and the surrounding area has some of the most amazing wedding venues. Be it a formal sit down event or an acreage property with food trucks, there’s something for everyone. This short and snappy guide will give you a run down of the best Yamba wedding venues. Also, as a Stone & Wood drinker, you’ll even see my S&W ranking next to each venue! Let’s roll.

Yamba Wedding - Ceremony Locations

Yamba Lighthouse

Probably the most iconic spot for a Yamba wedding is at the Lighthouse.

Situated on Pilot Hill overlooking Main Beach is the Yamba Lighthouse lawn.  It's a beautiful spot for a beachy, outdoor ceremony.  Keep in mind there is no shade at this location, so it's best for morning or late afternoon ceremonies (depending on the time of year). Pro tip: You can google your wedding date sunset time to help with planning.

Council approval is required, and this space is listed as 'Pilot Hill' - see link below.

Notes: If you’re wedding is between October and March - aim for a later ceremony start time (no earlier than 3pm) as the sun can hit pretty hard here.

Main Beach Yamba

Another popular spot for a Yamba wedding is Main Beach.  Situated just next to the ocean bath is a flat grassed area that provides amazing ocean views.

There is some shade provided and if you are having a late ceremony (3pm onwards) the sun will likely be hidden, making it a little cooler in the Summer months.

This is a great spot if you're having your reception at the Surf Club as it's an easy walk from this location.

Green Point, Angourie

Green Point at Angourie is an epic ceremony location.  Apart from the Yamba Lighthouse, I shoot most of my weddings here. Coupled with Angourie Resort - it’s the perfect combination.

The sandstone area where you tie the knot is right on the point, with views of the coast line, back to Yamba and out to sea. Depending on the time of year, you might even have some dolphins or whales drop in on your ceremony.

It's big enough for larger weddings in terms of space and parking, but it is open to the elements and you'll feel it if it's a really windy day.

It’s a popular ceremony location, so jump on the Clarence Valley Council website and check availability.

The Old Kirk

The Old Kirk is a cute little former church located at the Yamba Museum. Built in the 1920’s and fully restored, it’s a great first pick or can be used as a wet weather option.

Perfect if your reception is at the Golf Club as it’s right next door.

Yamba Wedding - Reception Venues

Yamba Surf Club

I photograph the majority of receptions at the Yamba Surf Club. With breathtaking views over the Pacific, walking distance to most accomodation and a late night curfew, this is the most popular wedding reception venue in Yamba!

It's a DIY venue, meaning you will need to organise catering and venue decoration, but there are plenty of amazing vendors that can help with this. Ivy Lane & Co is a good place to start for this.

The Yamba Surf Club is a great location if you're having your ceremony at Main Beach or the Lighthouse.

Angourie Resort

The 2nd most popular Yamba wedding reception venue that I photograph at is the beautiful Angourie Resort. With over 60 apartments on site, this is a great way to maximise the time with your guests and turn your wedding into a 2-3 day weekend. Angourie Resort is great for those with kids as it has a kids pool, games room and a playground. For the adults, you can have cocktails delivered pool side!

The Bangalow Room is attached to the restaurant and is where most receptions take place. Multiple configurations available (ask me for photos) and they have amazing coordinators who do all the work for you! The food at Angourie Resort is elite

Yamba Golf Club

Yamba Golf Club is a great choice for a beautiful and practical wedding. It’s located in the centre of town which is convenient for guests getting to and from the venue, plus they operate a courtesy bus! You can choose to have just your reception at the Golf Club, or have your ceremony there too. For the reception, you can choose the outside deck, which scrubs up beautifully or for an indoor or bigger wedding head inside to The Auditorium.

That's it!

So that's it! The best Yamba wedding venues that I would recommend. Your first step is to contact the venues that you like and organise to check availability and organise a visit. Meet the team behind the venue to make sure you get along well and have your questions answered.

And of course, if you are looking for a photographer, I would love to chat and learn more about your day. Happy planning!
