Deux Belettes Wedding

Deux Belettes

I was super fortunate to be called up to shoot Laura & Dom’s wedding at the stunning Deux Belettes recently.  Due to COVID, they had multiple date reschedules, and even with just 4 days until the wedding, the Queensland border closed and the parents couldn’t travel to the wedding venue in New South Wales.  So with 4 days notice, the wedding was moved from Saturday to Friday and lucky for me I got the call to photograph this wedding under the Black Palm Collective umbrella.

This wedding was supposed to have 130 people, but with the obvious restrictions there was just the bride, groom and the parents.  It was pretty cool to have just 5 guests on this massive property!  I love shooting smaller weddings anyway, it allows me to really get close to the guests, get to know them and chat with them throughout the day.  I find that this allows me to capture more natural and authentic images, without the default ‘camera smile’ that people do when they see the camera pointed at them.

Deux Belettes Wedding

Deux Belettes, is a beautiful French farmhouse best described as a chateau. It’s the perfect Ballina wedding venue, hidden on a quiet country lane surrounded by tropical fruit plantations and rainforest.

It’s the perfect all in one venue too, which I love. Bride and groom can stay at the rustic on site accomodation, get ready in the seperate buildings and then the ceremony and reception can all be on the grounds of Deux Belettes too. There’s the Tower Suite, which is access by an old world spiral staircase and has views out over the rainforest. It has beautiful natural light and is a perfect setting for hair and makeup in the morning. Then there’s The Granary, with its timber cathedral ceilings and marble bathroom will make you feel like Paris circa 1800.

One of the great features of Deux Belettes is that it has multiple areas for different parts of the wedding.  For example, for the ceremony, you could choose the lawn or the courtyard.  If you’re having a smaller wedding, you could have the reception under the archway, or put a marquee on the back lawn.  There’s plenty of options that ensure your wedding is unique.

Ballina Wedding Venue

If you're looking for a Ballina wedding venue, definitely check out Deux Belettes. It’s only 25 minutes from Ballina and should be on your short list. And of course, if you are looking for a photographer, I’d love to chat! You can read more about my wedding photography here.
